My son has dyslexia, he has struggled in school and I have struggled to find the right tutor to help him. It has only been a few months with One Bite Learning and I have watched his grades go from a D to a B in English!!!! B!!!! I never thought I would see the day and the beaming smile on his face when he proudly bought home his grade. His attitude towards learning and his confidence in his ability is amazing!!! Steve has been a god send in every way. My son loves going to Steve and the games they play - it is nothing like school work or homework, it’s fun. His willingness to go shows just how much he enjoys it and his grades are showing his results! The fees are very reasonable and I highly recommend them. Not every student learns the same way, so getting help with a different learning approach can make all the difference. It certainly has for my son. I can’t Thank you enough Heather and Steve!!!

My son has been working with Heather for 6 months now and the change in his attitude towards learning and his self confidence has been amazing. Heather has excellent techniques to keep him focussed and he enjoys the variety in the sessions. We have seen a big improvement in his reading and writing. In his own words "learning with Heather is fun"

My son is a year 6 student who has been diagnosed with Dyslexia and a phonics disorder. I decided to enrol him in tutoring after school reports indicated that he was behind and I did not want him to enter high school with an educational deficit. Heather is so welcoming, friendly and accommodating that my son engages in the learning process effortlessly. He has been attending since earlier this year and I have noticed a marked increase in his confidence with reading and writing skills. I am often present during tutoring and have been pleasantly surprised by what I have observed. I recommend One Bite Tutoring to any parent who wants to increase their child/s confidence and ability in learning.

My son had been behind in Maths and English for a couple of years and I kept hoping he would catch up with age but he was starting to label himself as someone who just didn’t get things. I finally decided to focus on his Maths as he was missing some key concepts and my explanations were not helping him. I knew from past experience that group tutoring wasn’t the answer for my son and so went about finding an individual tutor.
My son was consistently getting grade D in Maths and English. Within about a term and a half of tutoring from Heather my son was getting grade C in Maths. While the tutoring was only in Maths I found that my son’s increased confidence in this subject seemed to over flow into his other subjects and his grades started to improve across the board. He is now achieving grade C and above for all subjects.
We travel 30 mins to visit Heather and even though my son no longer needs tutoring for Maths HE has chosen to continue to see Heather to support him in developing his skills in English. I consider this money well spent.

I came to One Bite Learning to improve my maths and English as I was applying to the Australian Defence Force. Heather has helped me improve in those subjects. Tutoring is not just kids, it's also for adults who wants to improve on themselves.
Postscript - RB has now passed his defence force aptitude test and has been approved to join the army!

Our son has been having tutoring for several months now and loves it. Heather is very patient and spends time explaining concepts to him until he understands them. Tutoring provides extra one on one support to support his learning. I'm sure his other siblings will also benefit from tutoring sessions!

Really happy with how my daughter enjoys coming here. She's learning lots and it's great to watch her learn. She's clicked well with Heather, which is great news.

It all started in June 2015 when I met Heather. I was shy and very quiet. My confidence was bad and so was my self-esteem. Being in a classroom environment was very hard for me but Heather always made me feel good about myself. I think it was her beautiful smile and friendly attitude. I have Dyslexia and was writing back to front but with heathers help, my writing is now fantastic and my reading and spelling has improved. Heather never gave up on me like some of my other teachers in the past. Heather is by far the best teacher I have ever had with her support she has made life so much easier because now I can find a job and not worry about weather I can read or not. So, I thank Heather for all the help she has given me. If I had to recommend a teacher to anyone, Heather would be the first.
