Heather
- Literacy Lover and English Nerd

My name is Heather, and I'm the owner of One Bite Learning. I also tutor students with dyslexic or related needs, high school English and adult literacy.

I have a Degree in Education (Primary/Middle School), a Graduate Certificate in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) and a Cert. IV. in TAE (Training and Adult Education). I have also completed the coursework required for a Certificate in Multisensory Learning (the recommended certificate for teaching students with dyslexia or other literacy challenges), and am currently working towards completing the prac component of this certificate in order to be registered with the Australia Dyslexia Association. Prior to tutoring, I have taught in primary school as well as teaching adult literacy, numeracy and ESL (English as a second language).

One thing I have learned in my teaching career is that everybody can learn! It's a cliche, but it's true. I started One Bite Learning because I recognised a need in the Caboolture community for quality, personalised learning support - for both adults and children. I am excited about this opportunity and hope that you are too!

Steve is encouraging, fun and a natural teacher. He is like your favourite uncle, your favourite teacher and your school chappy all rolled into one! He has worked for the past year and a half teaching adult literacy and numeracy and has completed qualifications in adult education (Cert. IV TAE and Graduate Certificate in TESOL). Prior to this, Steve was a chaplain at a couple of local schools, for which he completed a Bachelor of Ministry and a certificate in Youth Mental Health First Aid. As a part of his growth into this new role, Steve will also be completing a certificate in MSL teaching (the recommended approach for teaching students with dyslexia or literacy challenges).

Steve loves working with children and with adults and is excited about this opportunity to work with individual students according to their specific needs.
